i've been studying !

i've understood chem except for the last few chaps.
i've been doing phy tys.
i've done a couple of ss mindmaps.
yet to touch bio and geog which i will do hopefully soon.
and haven't start on math.
so far.

so yeap.
stress. T.T

first day of raya, visited only 4 houses.
pathetic yea.
managed to collect $110 on that day and that's pretty much it till today .
didn't visit much houses after the first day.
in fact, none at all .

anyway, i've been prom shopping with sister and mum whenever we get a chance to go out.
and i'm on the plus side cos my sister shops for her japan worktrip too, so i can search for mine while she search for hers. yay !
gotten a couple of things here and there.
prom dress; done.
makeup/hairdo app.; done.
oh yes, was walking around lot 1 with sis and mum w/o any intentions of buying anything. but my lovely, dearest, oh-so-beloved sister found a pair of earrings which totally matches my dress. was hesitant at first cos it has beads. but on second thoughts, it looks really feminine. and has only a few diamonds too. so i don't look like a disco ball. (:
ahh, pretty pair of earrings at Helen. only $11.90 !
saw another pair at Bugis which was about 5 cm long and all diamonds.
very pretty but plain. that was $49. so HAHA, found a prettier AND much cheaper one.
so, earrings; done.
aunt agreed to help me with dying of hair after Os.
since sister would be away and mum insisted tt doing it at a shop is too ex for a 16 yr old. =.=
so yeap.
contacts would also be bought before sister leaves for japan.
so contacts and hair-dying is pretty much settled too. (:
left with heels, necklace and clutchbag.
i'd try to do my own mani/pedi to save costs.
but if it's too terrible, i guess i have no choice but to go to a pro.
so that won't be settled till much later.

OH OH OH !!!
i saw the Copthorne King's Hotel already.
it wasn't bad . yay !
i was expecting something worse, so cheers for my low expectations !
but then again, i could be wrong ? cos i've only seen it from the outside. ain't sure if it's the one .
is it between Furama and Miramar ? correct me if i'm wrong .
btw, Copthorne King's is a FOUR STAR HOTEL for those prom nite-ers who wish to know . sister told me that .

oh yes, i went to the zoo yesterday !
with ky, aidah, sebas, yy and fee . ky had a free pass .
so much fun ! i love the otters . i soooo want them as a pet !
adorable creatures .
ahhhhhhh~
i want them, i do i do !
i think we covered the whole of the zoo . heh .
been so long since i visited it .
and it's extra fun with us girlfriends around !
but hy didn't tag along cos she had tuition .
don't mind going after Os again, though . hee .
visit my beloved otters ! =D

ANYWAY, was there from 12 till 4 ?
then mummy fetched me while the rest caught a movie, i guess .
headed to paragon for sushi tei with sister & parents .
then parkway parade for sister's shoes .
then home .

something so bad happened last night .
but wth , who cares ?

for 6 freaking weeeeeeks !
she'll be leaving on the 3rd of Nov.
i'd be ELATED if not for the fact that she wouldn't be able to help me out with prom preps!
sheeeeesh.
now i'd have to consider makeup by a makeup artiste.
because if not, makeup would be FOC cos my sister can do it for me !
and also, us girls need her to book for us a hotel room !
HOW ?!
*grumbles*

she's been sent to Tokyo for training in one of the hotels there by her company.
SUCH TIMING.
JUST WHEN I NEEDED HER HELP.

been MIA for quite sometime yea.
so absolutely sorry.

well, yesterday was our (Sufiyan & I) first anniversary!
hurrrrrrrrah!
muacks muacks.!
i bought a pair of silver rings for the occasion.
his has "zuu" engraved while mine has "fee" engraved on it.
the ring couldn't fit loverboy's middle finger though. wakaka.

and he didn't want to tell me what he got cos it wouldn't be a surprise.
i gotta wait till monday.
(which btw, my dearest, is a waaaaay belated anniversary gift).

currently hooked on Louise Rennison's book.
book after book after book.
her stories are hilarious. A LOT of mentioning on snogging.
snog=kiss. snogging=kissing. snoggable=kissable. you get my drift.
it's a seven series (or more) book and i'm at book 4 !
book 1's title: angus, thongs and full-frontal snogging.
book 2's title: on the brightside, i'm now the gf of the Sex God.
book 3's title: knocked out by mu nunga-nungas.
book 4's title: dancing in my nuddy-pants.
etc. etc.
i think these kinda books are for 14 yr olds. but who the hell cares.

oh btw, i had nightmares !!
in fact, 4 !!
it was soooooo terrible!
okok, 4 nightmares in a span of four months, okay.
still, it's horrible.
what's more, it all involves the same monster.
and it's a SHE. SHEmonster.

i wake up with a retarded face everytime i have a dream like that.
like THAT. uggghhhh.

bugis library is book heaven, in case you wanna know.
oh yeah! and i went hysterical when i found the book second summer of the sisterhood.
it's a second part to the novel sisterhood of the travelling pants which some of you might have heard becos it was made into a movie too. well i hope they make a second part of the movie following the second part of the book. (:

i think i've got snog withdrawal. (see, i'm influenced by the book. -.-")
meaning, i miss sufiyan's snoggies!
i know, becos everytime i look at his face, my eyes wander to his j.puckeroos.
you don't need to know what j.puckeroos are. i made it up and it's only for me to know.

i did an essay.
planning to do more in future to practicepracticepractice!!
but still, people say my essay is not really explaining the title.
which is no surprise for me, really.


Trying

I displayed my nice set of teeth, my broadest smile planted on my flushed pink face. The party held to celebrate my achievement made me the centre of attention, and who does not like that. I was elated even hours after my victorious fight with the other contestants. Eveybody around me were bustling about, trying to get a shake of my hand to congratulate me. Every word of compliment, pat of encouragement and reaction of awe stirred a rush of excitement in my head. The unbelievable stares from a distance had shown obvious unexpectations of my winning. When the crowd had reduced, I flopped onto the plush red beanbag, drained from all the commotion. I stared into space while recollectiong those moments when I had refused to even try.

"The auditions will be held on the third week of March. More details will be informed later on this week."

I pondered while making sense of the announcement. Each sentence caused my heart to skip a beat. A loud beep coming from the speaker box snapped me back to reality, back to my usual seat where I built sandcastles of my dreams in the air. I quickly - but hesitantly - erase the thoughts of joining the competition on The Arts. I always had a passion for photography and theatrical works. Still, I have not, or have yet, to take a step further in pursuing my fascination in that sector. This is my chance. If i succeed, I would prove everybody wrong while keeping my interest at heart, I heard a voice in me. I glanced at Tara, who might as well be my inner twin, across the class. She gave me a smirk, and I instantly knew what would happen when the school bell goes off.

20 min later, the deafening bell rang, signalling lunchtime. Tara and Shayla (another best friend of mine), without delay, rushed towards me.

"Try! Try! Try! Try!" they chanted. I knew exactly what they meant.

"I can't, guys. Drama is still foreign to me. I might not even make it to the next round!" I protested.

"That's why we said try," Tara replied, emphasizing the three letter word they chanted. "Besides, there's a first in everything."

I sat back in my chair, wondering if I should take a stab in the dark. I figured it was a risk worth taking. Mistakes could be learnt even if I didn't make it.

After qualification rounds and semi-finals, I was now waiting for my turn in the last step of the competition. If I made it, the prize of being a star in a television series would certainly be the dawn of pursuing my dreams. My palms were moist and my heart beats ferociously as I waited for my turn. Feelings of anxiousness mixed with assurance of conquering the champion title engulfed my timid heart when my turn was called.

"Go on. You can do it!" Tara whispered into my ear, close enough to make the goosebumps at the back of my neck stand. Shayla gave me a reassuring smile.

I scrunched my bulbous nose, gave them a silly look and went up on stage. Try, try, try. Tara & Shayla's chants resounded in my head. And then, I gave my all. The quiet girl who never dared to try finally shown others her inner ability. That girl who never had the courage to take a step further in accomplishing her interest is now a different person on stage. In front of thousands of people. It was a chance for me to shine. As the results were announced, I found out I was the champion. A lead role in Catching Dreams. A series that would be aired on national tv. I was even offered a 3 year course in photography skills & applications. Ecstatic would be the best word to describe my feelings. I did it.

"Hello, Miss Drama Queen! Back to Earth, back to Earth!" Tara & Shayla shouted in unison.

I reluctantly woke from my daze and stared at the faces of the two girls who I could not do without. On instinct, I hugged them tight, thanking them for persuading me. Trying will become a big part of my life now.
