have i told you i'm beginning to enjoy Theatre classes? thank god for this CDS or i'd die with some other boring class including New Media. pffft.

this week, Sonny taught us to project our voice across a stage. it was waaaay different than just acting/saying out the script. we had to concentrate on the vowels of each word instead of the consonants. so the whole class was like shouting out the different phrases Sonny wrote for us.

"muuuummy, cooome heeere!"
"hellooo, hooow aaare youuu?"

hilarious. i couldn't stop laughing.

and then there's the word emphasis by using our voice. it's like emphasizing on one word to give the same sentence, different meanings.

I love fried rice.
i LOVE fried rice.
i love FRIED rice.
i love friend RICE.

get what i mean? this was my fav part of all. it made so much sense. we did a scene with our own planned script but one line was given which was, "where did you go last night?". Rachel and i had only 4 lines. but Sonny said our emphasis was clear!

me: so where did you go last night?
R: oh, i went to bugis and then town then TM then sakae for dinner.....
me: ....wait wait wait, hold on. where did you go last night?
R: oh, i went sakae for dinner with my friends.

THEATRE IS SUPER DUUUUPER FUNFUNFUN! :D :D :D
can't wait for the next class.
