first of all, i'm doing this without anyone else knowing.
secondly, i thought i might give it a try since i'm a blogging addict.
thirdly, i am recently posted to Temasek Polytechnic and i'm living in the west area. my sister told me my iPod Mini will burst since i will use it everyday to school on the hour-long journey to TP. thus, my eye for the prize.

so what's youth?
the period of life from puberty to the attainment of full growth; adolescence.

YOUTH-in my opinion.

- is all about dolling ourselves up; without anyone going, "you're too young to put on make-up!" or "you're too old to be wearing thaat!"
- is when you find your first love but you know it will never last.

- is when you encounter so many heartbreaks, yet you never learn.
- is the period of time where you have the optimum energy to do anything and everything. you don't see senior citizens skate-boarding, do you?
- is when you make many new friends.

- has the best stage of life to partaaaaaaay!
- is about seeking thrills; cheap or not. and the best part of it all,
- is the last stage of life where your parents are your ATMs before you call yourself an adult and money is your own responsibility. :D

being a youth in Singapore is such a pleasure. the Government organises free gigs like Baybeats at the Esplanade to cater to music-loving youths. and i emphasized the free because generally, youths today are either penniless or they loooove cheap thrills. heh heh.

i am a Singapore youth because other than being born in Singapore:
i am on the computer almost the whole day.
i would die in lonely bus trips without music.
i long for FREEEEEEDOM.
i like fashion (but not trends. there is a difference) although i'm a boring dresser if i have to say so myself.
i have MSN and i chat with friends very often.
i have friendster and i log in every single day.
i am aware that Xiaxue is the famous Singaporean blogger.
i like to receive free stuff, except advertisment flyers that are given out all over Orchard Road.
i take pictures of myself. or anything, anytime even when i'm out.

about three years ago, i registered myself in a 3 day non-residential camp called Youth Project organised by Nanyang Girls' High School. due to my interest, i opted for 'The Arts'. it brought youths who have the same interest together on the same grounds. i met other Singaporean youths who were interested in the arts too. this kind of project intertwines being a youth in Singapore and your interest. and when we have projects like this going on more often, i can say BEING A YOUTH IN SINGAPORE ROCKS. ((:

so i'm pleading, on behalf of all the youths in Singapore, to have more events planned out just for us youths! we want something that relates especially to us. not Clean & Green Week talks in schools. nyeh.

oh and by the way, the UN defines youth as those aging from 15-24. so some of you have ample time to do what a youth has gotta do. now everybody, YAAAY! x)
